Diamond Blade Crack Cleanout

Crack Preparation

Using a diamond blade on a hand held grinder clean out and re-profile the pool deck cracks. We use a 7" grinder to get at least 2" depth. On wider cracks a gas powered hand held street saw is best for getting maximum depth in the cleanout.

Saturation

Using CRS-10 saturate the crack walls. CRS-10 has a low viscosity, and will penetrate into the bottom and side walls of the crack. CRS-10 will also penetrate hairline cracks due to it being as thin as water.

Adding silica sand as a matrix using a hand trowel
POOLPICS24.JPG

Fill the saturated crack with a kiln dried silica sand or dried quarts sand. This becomes the matrix and extends the material by about two and a half times. Using CRS-10 saturate the sand until it will not accept any more material. Using a hand trowel level the sand and CRS-10 even with the surface. Installing re-bar pins adds additional strength. See the tips and tricks page for re-bar pin installation.
@ 70 degree temperature allow about 10 - 15 minutes to set.
